We now have plenty of companies and ISP’s who are using our full Enterprise File Share and Sync solution for OpenStack but we have long been approached by companies asking if they could have just the drive piece of our functionality available that works in a dedicated fashion outside of our full EFSS solution.
To that end we are pleased to announce the release of a dedicated OpenStack Windows CIFS Drive that is a standalone installer that works directly with OpenStack Swift instances.
Install is simple:
Authentication is done using standard V1 or V2 OpenStack Authentication:
Cache Settings can be configured from the system tray:
The drive is using the smarts of the SME EFSS Windows SME drive which means it has the hooks built in to works with Apps such as Microsoft Office which place temporary locks etc.
The Drive also supports multiple endpoints if regional deployment of OpenStack Swift is being used.
You can download the drive to test from here. Ensure you install with the license in the same directory. The license enables the drive to be used until the end of September 2015.
[Drive link updated August 2017.]
Customer of the drive have reported throughput of 30-40 MB/s with large file transfers of of more than 30GB.
The drive is available for purchase as well as white label or OEM. Please contact our sales department for purchasing options.by
