Following on from our last post in which we demonstrated how CIFS Windows shares can be exposed outside of the corporate firewall this blog post will focus on how to Archive CIFS Windows shares to OpenStack Swift.
The SME Enterprise Cloud Appliance allows any primary cloud to be paired with a backup cloud for archive and business continuity purposes.
We recently released a new version of the Storage Made Easy Android Application, the Android client for the SME Enterprise File Share and Sync Fabric.
One of the new features in the updated App was to provide the ability to View, edit and create Microsoft Office files directly from the data stores configured for the SME Sync and Share Appliance.
To be able to do this firstly ensure that you have installed the SME Cloud File Manager from the Android App Store.
The below video is a deep dive on how to setup Active Directory / LDAP for seamless integration from the Storage Made Easy Enterprise File Share and Sync with a Swift Container.
The deep dive is done against a SwiftStack cluster and it also demonstrate how, as part of the auto-provisioning, data retention and versioning policies can be set to handle corporate data compliance rules.

Lets take a look at some of the ways in which the self service features can be used to self-brand.
